Molly Cronenwett, Art Director

Molly is an artist, art teacher, and mother who lives in Hillsborough. Originally from Michigan, she grew up in New Hampshire and moved to NC in 1997. Molly has a BA in English Literature and Art History from the University of Michigan, a MA in Art History from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a BA in Art Education from NCCU. She has taught art and art history in a charter school to grades 4-12, she has tutored grades 1-12 at a local learning center, and she was a camp counselor for children aged 5-11. While teaching she also enjoyed coaching field hockey and lacrosse at two local schools. As an artist, Molly has trained in several different media, and specializes in ceramics, wheel throwing, drawing and painting. In her free time Molly loves spending time with her family and friends, making art, going to art exhibitions, being outdoors, traveling, reading, running, yoga, and SCUBA diving. Since the birth of her daughter in December 2003, Molly had been a stay-at-home mom, dreaming about starting a small community art school. ArtWorks for Everyone is her first step toward that goal.

Kristen Hirsch, Program Director

Kristen is a mother of two who lives in Hillsborough. Originally from Maine, she lived in Colorado for 10 years before moving to NC in 2003. Kristen received a BA in Psychology from the University of Vermont and a MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado. In the course of her professional career, Kristen has developed a child-centered approach in her work with children of all ages. Early on, she evaluated and treated children in a Head Start program, and then built a private practice providing services to families in crisis. From there, she became specialized in the field of child custody evaluations. Kristen enjoys spending time with her family and great friends, traveling to Maine and the beach, cake decorating, and good books. Kristen had been a stay-at-home mom since 2003, until she considered starting a small after school program in her home. She and Molly then chose to join forces and talents to create ArtWorks For Everyone together.
